Luxeon LED Emitter Variations

LUXEON LEDs provide building blocks that still allow great flexibility and easy connectability.

LUXEON LEDs offer a very bright light and consistent color in a very small package. The LUXEON LED can generate as much as 45 lumen per watt in white for a 1 watt Star or Emitter, up to 190 lumen per watt in a Luxeon III amber Emitter and Star!

The Batwing or 'Low Dome' LED has a clear resin dome with an almost flat top, thus the 'low dome' name. These project a narrower beam pattern of 110 degrees, and is used in the Star w/Optics in all colors along with the collimator. The inclusion of the collimator effectively narrows view angle to 10 degrees for a very focused light source from the Star/wOptics.

The Lambertian or 'High Dome' LED has the high hemispherical dome with a wider 140 degree view angle. It is said that the high dome series project a wider but clearer light beam and yet with the same light intensity as the Batwings. Luminous flux values remain the same as are the other properties. These High Dome Luxeons should provide a clearer beam pattern while retaining or having an increased brightness level.

The Side Emitting LEDs directs the light beam 90 degrees off the optical axis in a 360 degree rotationally symmetrical pattern. This produces a toroid of light that is useful for lighting large opaque surface areas.

The Luxeon® EMITTER is the basic building block of all Luxeon Power Light Sources. Luxeon EMITTERS give you total design freedom by allowing you to design from the ground up enabling a fully integrated lighting solution design.

Luxeon® SIDE EMITTERS have the same electrical characteristics as the Low Dome Batwings and the High Dome Lambertians but with some variations in the optical properties and in the total luminous flux per color.

Luxeon® STARS consists of a 110 view angle degree Luxeon Emitter mounted to a hexagonal aluminum-core submount. The Star is the next level of building blocks that still allows great flexibility and easy connectability to form large light sources in a compact size.

Luxeon® STAR / O (with optics) have the optional PMMA secondary optics to create a tight collimated beam that generates a 10 degree view angle. The Star/O consists of an EMITTER mounted on an aluminum-core pcb with collimating optics.

Luxeon® Assemblies consist of the 6-Up and 12-Up Rings, the DCC Dynamic Color Control assembly, the Line Assembly and the Flood Assembly. The Ring and Line assemblies are made from Stars with optics.
